2024
THE INEZ LIPSCOMB TINSLEY JONES MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is for members of Beulah Baptist Church, or the children or grandchildren of members. The scholarship is for those in Bachelor’s Degree programs (4 year college). Scholarships are awarded based upon yearly interest received from the principle divided by the number of applicants. Funds for this scholarship are invested through the office of the EverBless Foundation, Richmond, Virginia, formerly known as the Virginia Baptist Foundation.
This scholarship is administered by the Beulah Baptist Church Scholarship Ministry Team.
THE BARNABAS SCHOLARSHIP
Established in 2017 by Mrs. Maxine Hamlett and her husband Rick Hamlett in honor and
memory of her mother Eleanor Bradley, and her sister, Eleanor Winchester.
The name “Barnabas Scholarship” is taken from the New Testament person of
Barnabas, whose name means “Son of Encouragement”. It is Mrs. Hamlett’s belief that
Christian encouragement is vital for our youth.
Since the passing of Rick Hamlet in September 2021, Mrs Maxine Hamlett is continuing the Scholarship on a year by year basis.
For 2024, four (4) scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00 each are offered to candidates
whose parents and/or grandparents are members of Beulah Baptist Church. The scholarship is awarded to candidates who have been accepted to one of the following accredited institutions of higher learning: a Community College; Trade School; Technical School; Business School; Four Year College/University; or Seminary.
The term of the scholarship is for one year and one must reapply to be considered for
additional years. Current active church members will be given first preference in receiving this scholarship.

THE HARDINIA M. GWATHMEY SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is for members, relatives, or friends of Beulah Baptist Church. The
scholarship is only awarded to those attending the University of Richmond.
Current active church members will be given first preference in receiving this scholarship.
This scholarship is administered by the Beulah Baptist Church Scholarship Ministry Team.
